what is LTE

LTE is super fast mobile network technology. which uses 2 key technology...
1. OFDMA.  THis is the way they use frequency..
2. MIMO.   they use multiple antenas to make just a single call or download. that seems new..

there are confusions about mobile phone network technology. especially around Long Term Evolution (a.k.a. LTE) People call it "4G" network. Japanese call it "3.9G" or "super 3G"
no body (at least marketing guys) cares technology. 4g is just catchy. and 3.9g seems alreay acomplished the requirement for 4g. the requirement is 1gbit/s when you stay where you are. 100Mbit/s when you move super fast.
